Peter J. Taylor retired as President of the ECMC Foundation on February 28, 2023. The Foundation, which is based in Los Angeles, works to inspire and facilitate improvements that affect educational outcomes – especially among underserved populations – through evidence-based innovation. Immediately prior to joining the ECMC Foundation as founding President, Taylor spent five years as Chief Financial Officer of the University of California system. Most of his professional career was in the investment banking industry, spending nearly 17 years in municipal finance banking of Lehman Brothers and Barclays Capital, where he was Managing Director for the West Coast fixed income group. Active in the community, Mr. Taylor served over six years as a Trustee for the California State University system, and on the boards of the Kaiser Family Foundation and the J. Paul Getty Trust. He also serves on the boards of Edison International, Pacific Life and 23andMe. Mr. Taylor was born and raised in Los Angeles. He received his undergraduate degree from UCLA and a master’s degree in Public Policy from the Claremont Graduate University. He also participated in the CORO program as a fellow. He joined the Parsons board in 2015.
